Provincial Tourism Delegation
Right in the centre of the Medina, open to the public, tourists and locals, the Provincial Tourism Delegation of Essaouira is attached to the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts. It provides in particular a list of tourist establishments, plans and practical information for visitors to the city. Essaouira Mogador Association – Dar Souiri
Founded in 1992 by Mr. André Azoulay, Royal Adviser and Souiri of origin and heart, Essaouira Mogador Association, has since then been working for the safeguarding and promotion of the human, cultural and historical heritage of Essaouira,in Morocco and across borders.
Its headquarters, Dar Souiri, is a cultural centre open to all, where numerous artistic events (exhibitions, concerts, projections), debates and meetings, as well as courses in Arabic and Spanish are organized. Its multimedia library is also at the service of everyone who wants to study and enjoy its numerous works.
Essaouira Mogador Association is the privileged partner of the city’s major events and festivals (namely, Gnaoua Festival, Spring of the Trade Winds, Atlantic Andalusias) (Source: Made in Essaouira).

French Institute of Essaouira
The French Institute of Essaouira is a place of cultural action and French language learning, open to the public at large. The Institute hosts lectures, projections, musical shows and exhibitions throughout the year, according to the local and national schedule of the French Institute of Morocco.Several sessions per year award French-language diplomas approved by French-speaking countries.A multimedia library, rich with more than 6,000 references, offers access to all your bookish and digital searches, with a “youth” space and access to extremely varied online resources (Source: Made in Essaouira))

Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah Museum
Originally a seigniorial house dating from the 19thcentury, the building became during the protectorate the seat of the town hall. In 1980, the monument was chosen to house the Museum of the city and its region, named “Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah Meseum”. Its purpose is to preserve and present the cultural heritage of the province.
In this Museum, you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the city and its region from prehistoric, antic (Phoenician, Mauritanian, Roman and Late Roman) and medieval epochs, until the foundation of the current Medina in the 18thcentury by the Sultan Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah and its declaration as a Universal Heritage of Humankind.
The natural heritage of the city of Essaouira and its region is also presented in the Museum.
